I have purchased a Cub recently from a friend of a friend. He says that this tractor is a 1952 model. The serial number is 42438. What got me questioning the year was the white grill that is on mine instead of the wire mesh grill that I have been seeing on the front of pictures that I have found on the internet for 1952 Cubs. I am new to Cubs but have wanted one for 20 years. This tractor is in really good shape and is all original with the what I believe is the very first coat of paint. Decals are good also.

• The serial number of one I know was built prior to its purchase on Nov 2, 1990 is 22248322. Since this one is 8 and yours is 9 digits, I'd say yours is considerably later. I also have 026's with the serial numbers 228874912 and 241159621 one being metal tag and the latter being plastic tag.
• Write down the digit serial number stamped in the center section of the identification plate. Compare the serial number to Farmall's list to find the year the tractor was manufactured (see References).
